PPT Brings Groundbreaking Safety Solution to Workplaces Around the World

A Michigan-made innovation is going global while strengthening the state’s economy and protecting workers around the world. Personal Positioning Technologies (PPT), the company behind the Human Hoist ergonomic chair, is expanding into international markets and creating jobs in Michigan as demand grows for smarter, safer workplace tools.

The Human Hoist product line includes the Stool, Chair, and Drive—powered solutions that help people in physically demanding jobs get into safe, comfortable positions, reducing workplace injuries and fatigue. Designed to support a company’s most valuable asset, its employees, Human Hoist empowers teams with unmatched safety, productivity, and comfort.

“Human Hoist is transforming workplace ergonomics by reducing physical strain and promoting safety, comfort, and productivity for workers in demanding environments,” said CEO of PPT Lee Richards. “With the support of specialized marketing services, we will strengthen our brand positioning and reach key industry sectors that can benefit from our technology.”

Support for marketing services came through Central Michigan University Research Corporation (CMURC) and the Midland Business Alliance, who helped PPT tap into Business Accelerator Funds (BAF). These grants help Michigan startups access expert services to grow faster and smarter. The program is run by the Michigan Small Business Development Center in partnership with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).

PPT also partnered with a fellow Michigan business to advance its marketing strategy, showcasing how the Great Lakes Bay Region’s business community is building each other up.

“Backing companies like PPT is exactly what we’re here to do,” said Erin Strang, President + CEO of CMURC. “They’re not just creating smart tools—they’re proving that Michigan businesses can lead globally.”
