MY “AHA” MOMENT:
Technology has a grip on our society that we see as a major problem for the health and well-being of people everywhere. Our culture hides behind their screens and worry more about “likes” from complete strangers, than spending time with the ones we love. Having fallen into this trap of “social” connectedness as well, we realized that it is anything but social. With this realization, we decided it was time to take stand for what makes us human, take back the moments lost to the screen, be truly present, and encourage others to do the same!
THE BIG IDEA:
We are here to encourage and provide a voice to those who are fighting against this trend of irresponsible technology use. Through our clothing line and brand ambassadors, we enable people to represent this movement and to the spread the word about unplugging. Our recreation-based outreach programs are focused on giving people the opportunity to be present together and to learn to be mindful of their technology use. We strive to develop a worldwide community that is encouraging others to “live unplugged” more often.
WHY MY IDEA IS BETTER THAN THE REST:
Our primary goal is to provide people with opportunities to live unplugged and to encourage those they care about to do the same. Currently, most businesses that promote recreational activity do not focus intentionally about unplugging – we do! We believe that this sets us apart and enables us to reach a broader audience.
THE SKY’S THE LIMIT:
We will use the funds to improve marketing and further develop our outreach programs. Join the movement…Live Unplugged!
