A few years ago exercising and eating healthy was not part of my life. The excuses ranged from working long hours or being too busy with family, but I knew that I needed to change and learn new habits. Once I began changing my diet and exercising I felt like a new person and I was excited to help other families. So with my new passion, I began developing a health and fitness game.
THE BIG IDEA:
Today eating and living healthier is on an upward trend. Despite this, studies show that one in every three kids is overweight, and obesity rates in adults have doubled over the past 35 years. Plus, only one-third of kids receive enough daily exercise, and less than 25 percent of adults over 18 meet regular physical activity guidelines. To most people learning about health and fitness isn't exciting or fun, but what if there was a way to make health and fitness education exciting and easy just by playing a game full of laughs?
WHY IS THIS IDEA BETTER THAN THE REST:
The majority of games are of people sitting around drawing cards or moving a piece around a game board. Our idea was to get people up off their butts and start laughing. We want to help families learn about health and fitness by intertwining humor while answering trivia questions, completing fitness challenges, and performing hilarious stories our loud. No other games combine all these elements.
THE SKY'S THE LIMIT:
Our initial idea for the game has changed many times until it reached a good prototype with easy game-play and solid content. The areas that we will address with additional funds will be graphics for the game and package, marketing plan, and a website. We are excited to get Delirious off the ground and running and into the hands of families.
