Analytic Model Helps Health Care Organizations Predict Demand for Services
Dataspace, an Ann Arbor-based business intelligence software and consulting firm and Business Insight, a part of the Central Michigan University Research Corporation, announce the introduction of Patient Volume Forecaster, a service that helps health care leaders predict and respond to expected demand for services.

SAS, the Central Michigan University Research Corporation and Dow Chemical are teaming up to offer the data mining academic community an opportunity to put their data mining skills to the test. The fourth annual Data Mining Shootout gives student and faculty teams the opportunity to solve a real-world data mining problem. The top three teams will be recognized at M2010, SAS' annual data mining conference, Oct. 25-26 in Las Vegas.

Ann Arbor Biz News: ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Ann Arbor-based Altarum Institute has been awarded a grant of $19,619,990 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to serve as the lead agent in establishing Michigan’s health information technology regional extension center, the Michigan Center for Effective IT Adoption (M-CEITA, www.mceita.org). The grant will be administered through the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology and managed and sponsored by Altarum. It is expected to create over 100 new jobs in Michigan.
M-CEITA is a partnership of 13 Michigan organizations, including Central Michigan University Research Corporation.
